**IMPORTANT NOTICE – PLEASE READ**Effective immediately The Detection Network will be discontinuing our marketing and sales involvement as a Sub-Distributor with DrugWipe. On September 30, 2010, Securetec ceased soliciting business in the U.S. Market. Effective October 31, 2010, full authority concerning the marketing, sales, distribution and reliance of Securetec’s products in all U.S. territories were transferred to Affiniton. Affiniton is being run by Securetec’s former U.S. Sales Director, Sherry Bender-Lassiter, formally known as Sherry Diehl, and possesses the exact same physical address where Securetec U.S. was located.
 

Prior to this recent unexpected change, there were two Florida Distributors. Northern Florida was covered by John Consoli, of Onsite Mobile Fingerprinting and Drug Testing. Southern Florida was covered by Eladio Paez, of Precision Protective Research, Inc. The Detection Network was the sub-distributor for both of these distributors. The Detection Network’s marketing plan, The Florida Tier Program, was modified and then approved by Sherry Diehl. Both Securetec-approved Florida Distributors agreed to this plan. Florida was on its way to market DrugWipe to professionals, in a professional manner.
In September 2008, Victor Ortino, Virginia Ortino and David Rich traveled to Spring Hill, FL where Sherry Diehl and Florida’s Northern DrugWipe Distributor John Consoli, personally trained us as DrugWipe Instructors, authorizing us to train and certify Technicians in the use of DrugWipe. We next further developed Securetec’s meager training program into the robust four hour course many of you have taken.

In September 2010, two years after our being trained by Sherry Diehl, we were directed by Securetec to “Cease and Desist” our operations and remove our Certified Technicians list from The Detection Network’s website. In the interest of the expenses and work our established Certified Technicians & Dealers have put forth, we refused to remove the list. After discussions with Securetec AG’s legal counsel and CEO, we entered into a new agreement with Securetec regarding this issue. This agreement consisted of an expiration date for Certified Technicians training of one year from the date of the test. After supplying Sherry Diehl with volumes of documents verifying The Detection Network’s Certified Technicians have been properly trained, we received new certificates. These certificates from Securetec have been sent out to the Certified Technicians.

We have recently been advised that John Consoli is no longer the Northern Florida DrugWipe Distributor. Eladio Paez is still Florida’s Southern Distributor. We have been in contact via email with the CEO of the new company, Affiniton, Sherry Diehl, and Ronn Lassiter, Affiniton’s new “distributor contact”. During these numerous email correspondences, we have identified many occasions of untruthfulness, questionable tactics, and total lack of recognition of the work that all of the Detection Networks’ Dealers and Technicians have undergone promoting & selling DrugWipe. Hence, The Detection Network has lost total trust with Sherry Diehl (now known as Sherry Bender-Lassiter) and can no longer be associated with her or her cause.

There are 53 Certified Techicians throughout Florida that can be found on our website, www.detectionnetwork.com, that can assist you should you desire a drug test. We at The Detection Network have invested thousands upon thousands of dollars and man-hours in this project, and are not happy realizing that we now must walk away from such a major investment. We believe in the results and multiple benefits the DrugWipe test kits offer. However, with the lack of assistance from Securetec/Affiniton and lack of trust with its leadership in the USA, we cannot afford to invest any more time or money in this endeavor.

Five-Year European Roadside Drug Testing Study Results with DrugWipe as a Leader in the Field

We are glad to announce that Securetec’s rapid drug test DrugWipe® came off as a winner in various categories of the ESTHER comparative study in the framework of the DRUID (Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, alcohol, and medications) project. 36 institutions from 18 countries participate in the DRUID project initiated by the European Union. The project intention is to improve road safety and elaborate references for road site testing.

During the ESTHER study, dedicated police officers (DPO) conducted on site screenings in oral fluid of motorists who were driving under the influence of drugs. By means of a representative number of tests, police officers evaluated failure rate, operability, hygiene, and if they as Law Enforcement Officers felt the most common oral fluid rapid tests were reliable. Securetec’s DrugWipe® was a front-runner in these results.

Securetec CEO Travels from Germany to Meet with Florida DrugWipe® Personnel

Franz Aberl, the founder and CEO of Securetec Detektions-Systeme AG, traveled from Germany this May to meet with the Florida DrugWipe® representatives. As many know, Securetec is the sole manufacturer of the DrugWipe® Drug Detection Kits. Franz is not only the CEO of Securetec, but also the inventor of DrugWipe®.

The discussions were about many topics, including getting more law enforcement agencies involved with DrugWipe®. Knowing how successful DrugWipe® has been in Germany, Australia, and other locations in Europe and the Federal Government here in the USA, there were conversations on ideas how to spark interest on the local levels of law enforcement and show them how valuable a tool DrugWipe® could be to them.

Just weeks after being formally introduced to Securetec’s DrugWipe® drug detection tool, Duval County DrugWipe® Dealer Joshua Askew of JMA Investigative Services received a call from Jacksonville’s TV channel 4, asking to interview him about the covert drug testing tool. Recognizing the potential for getting the word out locally about the innovative drug detection tool, Joshua jumped right in.

As was the case last year, The Detection Network was met with a warm welcome at the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators 2010 Conference held in Palm Beach Gardens in May. A large amount of Investigators took the CLE/CEU course “Covert Drug Testing and Florida Drug Free Workplace©”, and some continued on to the follow-up certification course. We are still receiving calls from Investigators who were unable to take the DrugWipe® Certified Technician course at the conference, and will most likely be scheduling an additional course in the very near future.

Completing the DrugWipe® Certified Technician course at the 2010 FALI conference are:

For the second year in a row, Ortino Investigations, d/b/a The Detection Network will be at the annual convention of the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators (FALI) presenting Securetec’s DrugWipe® drug detection kits and on-the-spot drug detection capabilities.

At last year’s FALI conference, 8 Private Investigators became Certified DrugWipe® Technicians, with some of them deciding to become stocking DrugWipe® Dealers for their areas. The Detection Network will offer not only the Certified DrugWipe® Technician class, but also a shorter class that has qualified for a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) / Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit with the Florida Certified Investigator program and The Florida Bar*. The CLE/CEU class alone is not designed to certify technicians.

Look for The Detection Network’s booth May 20th through the 22nd at the 2010 FALI/FASCO Conference. Our CLE/CEU class, “Covert Drug Testing and Florida Drug Free Workplace©” will be offered free to convention attendees at 2 pm Saturday, May 21, 2010. The Detection Network Offering CLE/CEU Credits for Attorneys & PIs at the 2010 FALI Conference

The Detection Network will be exhibiting at the upcoming 2010 Florida Association of Licensed Investigators (FALI) / Florida Association of Security Companies (FASCO) Professional Development Conference. While at the conference, we’ll be offering a 1 hour CEU/CLE course covering drug testing and the recently revised Florida Drug Free Workplace law. This

one-hour CEU/CLE class has been approved by The Florida Bar & the Florida Board of Certified Investigators, and is open to Private Investigators and Attorneys attending the conference.

In addition, Licensed Florida Private Investigators and Florida Bar Members that attend this course may elect to take part in the second section of this training which will certify them as a Certified DrugWipe Technician. This Certification section is discounted from $500 to a show special of $295. Conference attendees may register at the conference or contact The Detection Network for more information.
